Following hot on the heels of the success of this year’s Manx Telecom Bay Festival the organisers have announced that they have already finalised the line-up for next year’s ‘X Factor Meets Britain’s Got Talent’. With over 8,000 in attendance this year the organisers have been inundated with requests asking when next years will be on sale as no one wants to miss out.
Jonathan Irving co-event promoter with his son Jamie said: “The Father’s Day spectacular starring Olly Murs, Diversity, Danyl Johnson, Signature, Stavros Flately etc went down a storm. I was backstage looking out at the audience and the excitement and enthusiasm for the whole event was like nothing I had seen before. So we decided to strike while the iron was still hot and build on the success by releasing next year’s tickets next week, which is again on Father’s Day.”
Jamie Irving said: “we decided to make it even more fun and keep the interest going right through. Therefore based on the fact that no one had heard of Olly Murs or Danyl Johnson at this time last year we have decided that whoever finishes 2nd and 3rd on this year’s X Factor they will be appearing on the Bay Festival stage on 19th June next year. In addition we are excited to say we have booked the winners of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, Spelbound plus runners up Twist and Pulse and to compere and perform his own inimitable act will be impersonator and comedian and BGT finalist Paul Burling.

Isle of Man Bay Festival Triumphs
With the massive success of the recent Isle of Man Bay Festival, organisers have confirmed it will be back in 2011.
Over 25,000 people attended the festival over the three days, with the Sunday afternoon ‘X-Factor meets Britain’s Got Talent’ show pulling in a capacity crowd of almost 8,000 people. Based on police estimates, that is a bigger crowd than the one that descended on the prom for the busiest night of the TT entertainment.
The acts, which included a surprise performance from UK chart top-ten artist DJ Ironik, were a hit with the local crowd. Many of them expressed their desire to return to the Isle of Man, with some of them having stayed with local families during their visit.
Between the acts and the fans, the atmosphere in the ‘Valhalla’ tent – the biggest temporary venue in Europe – was electric. Even outside the tent there was a carnival atmosphere that was enjoyable for entire families, with bars, fairground rides and vendors filling the field.
The Festival organisers were ecstatic about the outcome of the event. Jonathan Irving commented: “We are delighted that the people of the Isle of Man got behind the festival and really enjoyed themselves, and we are proud that we could play a part in bringing it to them. We really want to thank everyone who was involved, from the fans and the acts to the army of staff and volunteers who made it all such a success. We would also like to thank Douglas Council for all their constructive assistance”.
As a result of its success, the organisers have already announced that the Festival will definitely return in 2011 on the weekend of the 17th, 18th and 19th of June in Nobles Park, subject to final ratification by the full Douglas Council. It has been confirmed that following on from the total success and popularity of the ‘X-Factor Meets Britain’s Got Talent’ that will make a definite reappearance again on the Sunday afternoon based on its huge popularity with fans. Due to an overwhelming demand to purchase tickets now for next year, with one couple changing the dates of their wedding to fit in next year’s festival!, tickets for the X Factor/BGT will go on sale on 6th July along with ‘Early Bird’ offers for the other shows.

Premier League Trophy on Display at Manx Telecom Bay Festival
It has just been confirmed by Chelsea FC and 188FOUNDATION that the Premier League Trophy will be on display at the Manx Telecom Bay Festival. The Trophy will sit on the first floor of the 2-storey inflatable 188CUBE between 1 and 5pm this Saturday the 20th June.
Festival-goers will be able to have their picture taken with the trophy in exchange for a small donation to The Children’s Centre. On the same afternoon, festival organisers have announced a ‘Festival Taster’ for the young and not so young with free admission before 2:30pm for up to 2 under 14s accompanied by an adult ticket-holder and the chance to enjoy a Manx Lifestyle Festival alongside the musical acts and TT fun rides. To finish off the afternoon the under 14’s can see Diversity perform one of their explosive dances.
With the weekend fast approaching, the tent set up in Nobles Park and the finishing touches being added before Friday, some of the artists have begun expressing their excitement. Some of them are actually coming in early to do some Island sight-seeing. So look out for celebs in your town!
Boy George has been to the Isle of Man once before but it has been a long time: “I have never performed with any of those people before, it will be fun!”
The Coronas are looking forward to it to and say that the festival will be extremely important with all the great headline acts: “The line up for the festival in the Isle of Man looks great, we are really really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a great weekend. We saw the tent and some pictures online, it looks like it’s really going to be a great weekend!”
Kim Wilde said: “I’ve got to know most of the artists who are going to be performing. It’s going to be a great day!”
Speaking about the festival, Lemar added: “I can’t wait to get in front of the people, hopefully the weather will be great and the people come out to party, and we can bring it! I’ll sing all the hits, hopefully throw in a bit of curve balls as well.” He also remarked on his fondness of JLS: “They are really cool guys, they supported me on my last tour last year. It will be cool to catch up with them and The Saturdays on June 18th”.
There is now Box Offices on the festival site open until 8pm each day running up to the festival and up to midnight on the nights of the festival. Tickets are still available for all three days and can be purchased online at http://www.bayfestival.im .
